- How does this change affect me?
Essential has made every effort to facilitate a seamless transition as your time is our top priority. As a new Essential Credit Union member, you will need to make a few updates to continue easily accessing and maximizing your new membership. We recommend updating any direct deposit information, registering for Online Banking, downloading our mobile app and updating your loan payment preferences within Online Banking (if applicable). Details for all of these recommendations can be found below or in the included letter.
- How will I make payments on my existing loan(s)?
To continue making payments on your loan, you have several options:
- Online Payments: Select the Loan Payments tab in Online Banking to transfer funds using a debit card or banking account information.
- Auto Draft: If you would like to have your payment automatically drafted from another financial institution, please complete and return an Automated Clearing House (ACH) form.
- Telephone: Payments can be made over the phone with a Contact Center Specialist during regular business hours toll-free at 888-369-2207.
- Mail: Checks or money orders may be made payable to Essential Credit Union and mailed to: P.O. Box: 66278 Baton Rouge, LA 70896
- Will I still be able to visit the physical branch (1199 Pasadena Blvd)?
Yes. Your physical branch is still open and operational; any future closures or relocations will be communicated in advance. That being said, you now have access to Essential’s innovative online banking platform and mobile app where you can enjoy all the benefits of an Essential membership 24/7 remotely.
- What new products and services are available to me as an Essential Credit Union member?
Essential is proud to offer you several new account options including our premier checking account, Rewards Checking. You also have access to money market savings accounts, share certificates, personal and vehicle loans, mortgages and much more. Please head to our website via the QR code below to view all products, services and details including an exclusive introductory offer for all Priority Postal members who open a Rewards Checking account at Essential.
- Will I need to download a new app?
Yes. Your existing app with Priority Postal has gone offline as the transition to Essential took place. Download Essential Credit Union App here.
Once you obtain your Essential member number, and mobile banking login information, you will have access to your account information as well as a wealth of tools to enhance your financial journey. You will be able to transfer funds seamlessly, track and improve your credit score and create budgets and track savings goals all from our app.
